Maximus: A triumphant life!

Pet PAWSitives and testimonials

Just wanted to let you know that the boys are doing fine at their new home! The first day was a busy one- Boots kept running back and forth through the office, dining room, and living room, amazed at the space! Samuel spent two hours hiding in the litter box, four hours hiding under the couch, then three hours purring in my lap after everyone went to bed. They have put Molly the dog in her place with some well-placed swats and now she (more or less) leaves them alone. Boots has found a true friend in four year old Otto, who loves to pull a string of beads across the floor for him. Boots especially likes Otto's remote control car- I don't know whether boy or cat enjoys this game more. Boots also like the matchbox cars, toy soldiers, plastic bugs; he sits at Otto's side while he plays and bats at things periodically. Samuel continues to seek out a lap and kind hand whenever he can, washing us all thoroughly as we pet him. Rest assured that your boys have transitioned seamlessly into the Rice household.

I must commend the caregivers at the shelter, despite the fact that these two lived in the shelter all their lives (3 weeks to 7 months), it is obvious that they were well loved and cared for by shelter staff- they are affectionate, social, and very adaptable. Thanks for prepping them for us-

I can't tell you enough what a joy Mack has been. He's funny, athletic, playful, and very affectionate. Not surprisingly, he took to us almost immediately.

Mack seems to love everyone he meets, and really hit it off with my grand-daughter last weekend (she's 9). He wouldn't leave her side, they played together for hours, and he seemed to really take to the task of making sure that she was "under guard", so to speak! She wore him out, but he loved it!

Mack knows some interesting tricks, that I never taught him. He sits immediately if I have a treat; and then stands on his hind legs and puts his forepaws in the "beg" position if I command "say your prayers!" It's so cute. He tends to pull on his leash a bit, but if I say "slow down..." he does so. He also knows "stay!" and will do so immediately.

I can't thank you all enough for bringing me my new friend. Mack will be a great friend-4-life for me and my family!

Regards,
Bob D.

The cats in the front were adopted together from HSMC three years ago, shadow and butternut. They are best friends and were wonderful additions to our cat family.
