Be certain that pets are wearing collars with current ID
tags. More pets accidentally
escape the house when there’s
lots
of commotion. 95% of pets with ID tags are quickly
returned home while 95% of pets without tags never
make it home.
Try to keep pets on the regular exercise and feeding
schedule. Provide plenty of love and attention so
they don’t
feel left out
and do something unpleasant or dangerous to get attention.
When there’s lots of commotion or a party,
put pets in a
separate, more quiet place with some of their toys,
a comfortable place to lie and classical music playing
softly to help them relax. They’ll feel safer
and less stressed.
Secure trees to wall or ceiling to prevent them from
toppling over on playful pets.
Keep curious pets from the trash where
hazards abound: bones,
wrapping paper, foil, six-pack beverage holders,
string wrappings that came around hams or roasts...
