TROUBADOUR, LOCAL BANDS AND BUSINESSES HELP HUMANE SOCIETY WITH 4TH ANNUAL POKER RUN

Jim McCoy’s Troubadour Lounge and Park will be the host site of the Humane Society of Morgan County’s 4th Annual “Git Yer Motor Runnin’ fur the Animals” Poker Run on Saturday, July 12th sponsored by many local businesses including Lion’s Lair, Tony’s Butcher Block, New Day Dental, Berkeley Springs Cottage Rentals, Clark’s, Blue Flame, Luke Christie - State Farm, Enviro-Tech Pest Services, Rruffing it Camp for Dogs and Carl M. Freeman Companies.

The annual fundraising event begins with registration at 10am and goes on throughout the day with Jonathan McBee deejaying from the Troubadour’s recently rebuilt band stand beginning at 12:30 and local bands Threat Level Orange and the Rockin’ Blues Band scheduled to perform live during the afternoon.

Participation in this event is expected to be the best ever with contingents of motorcycle riders and Corvette club members riding down Washington Street in Berkeley Springs between 10:30am and 11:00am. Liberty Express Stop in Paw Paw is one of the route’s three checkpoints, so residents there can expect to see rider groups there between 10:45am and 11:30am. Escort and Repair Service for the event are being provided by Dale Meadows of Arrow Cycles.

The event is open to the public. Anyone who wants to ride in the event is welcome. Those not riding in the event are welcome to come out to Troubadour Park anytime after 1:00pm to listen to the bands, meet mascots “Morgan” and “Berkeley”, participate in the 50/50 raffle, look at the many motorcycles and cars and enjoy food and drink available for sale in Troubadour Park.

Along with information on their upcoming 4th Annual Ruff Rider Poker Run, the Humane Society’s website features information about the Adoption Center, activities of the Humane Society, a link to Pet Finders and information on numerous pet-related concerns and issues at www.hsmc-wv.org.
