“Morgan the Cat”, one of the professional mascots
recently donated to the Humane Society of Morgan County by
its Board of Directors, made her public debut in town on Saturday,
June 8th during “Hey Girl Friend” weekend. Morgan
and her escorts strolled down the streets and through Berkeley
Springs State Park greeting people and accepting donations
for the animals at the Adoption Center. Morgan stopped in the
Nature Niche for a photo-op with employee Desiree Adams and
owner Judy Webb who presented the mascot with a check from
the donations the store collects for the Humane Society. Morgan
and her escorts also took pre-arranged cool off and rest stops
in Berkeley Springs Cottage Rentals, Pollick’s Sweets,
Recycling Works, Lion’s Lair and Cathy’s Art, Jewelry & Gifts.
“Morgan the Cat” and fellow mascot, “Berkeley
the Dog” will be seen at many events including the Humane
Society’s upcoming 4th annual Poker Run on July 12th
at the Troubadour as well as at community events including
the County Fair and the Apple Butter Festival.
Serving as a mascot or as a mascot escort is a new opportunity
available to anyone who’s been looking for a way to volunteer
with the Humane Society. More information about this opportunity,
along with information about the Adoption Center, activities
of the Humane Society, a link to Pet Finders and information
on pet-related concerns and issues, can be found at the Humane
Society’s website www.hsmc-wv.org.
