A group of eighth graders from Faith Christian Academy in
Martinsburg, along with the mother of one of the students,
visited the Humane Society of Morgan County Adoption Center
on Friday, May 2nd as part of their school’s annual “Labor
of Love” Community Service Day. Susan “Mrs.K.“ Kemenyas,
Board Secretary, greeted students Megan Milburn, Miriam Griffieon,
Alyssa Everly and Draylin Lewis and chaperone Debbie Everly
directing them to garden spots where they could arrange and
plant the perennials the group brought for their project. The
students then helped by grooming Spanky, an elderly shi tzu
that Mrs. Kemenyas was fostering until a good home was found
for him. For their final activity, the students and Mrs. Everly
took on the task of planting ground cover for erosion prevention
on the slope beside the Center’s newest building with
the aid and direction of Board Treasurer, Mr. Kelvin Langley.
