HUMANE
SOCIETY ANNOUNCES COMPLETION OF CAT ISOLATION BUILDING
(see pictures below)
The
Humane Society of Morgan County is pleased to announce
the completion of its long-anticipated Cat Isolation Building.
Through the combined efforts of numerous donors, the shell
was purchased and placed at the Humane Society complex
in mid-2006. Since then, designated giving of other donors
along with a generous grant from Ruth Hornbrook Memorial
Fund of the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation financed
the costs of finishing and outfitting the four isolation
rooms that comprise the building.
Having completed this critical improvement at the Adoption Center facility,
the Board of Directors is moving immediately on another key improvement in
their comprehensive plan to upgrade and develop the facility. Each improvement
has been carefully designed to enhance the day-to-day function of the center
making it an even better place for the animals cared for there as well as for
the staff and volunteers who serve there and making it more appealing for potential
adopters to visit and linger while making important choices and decisions regarding
the companion animal they will be adding to their family.
The Humane Society of Morgan County plans to host a dedication ceremony to
acknowledge everyone whose efforts or whose designated giving have made the
improvements possible, at a date yet to be determined, when the capital improvements
phase has been completed. In addition to special invitations to all honorees,
the Humane Society will issue an invitation to the public via the Morgan Messenger
and via this website.
